So far this week we are doing “preparation camp” which is what the Polish call their hell week or minicamp. It has been a great experience so far with lots of running on the beach or in the forrest. Thankfully, my preparation in the summer has allowed me not to be too sore. I believe that all those cycling classes are paying off in the form of sprint endurance. Below is a picture of the team after our first workout on the Baltic Sea!
Yesterday, we had practice that showcased the first live drills we have done since I got here. In 1v1 I go against a Polish center named Marcel. He is incredibly strong in the post and is a vet of the Polish top division for many years. I think I am going to start lifting with him on our lift days so that I can get stronger. I truly believe that strength will be the key to a long career and therefore should start sooner rather later. Today we have a “three a day” beach run at 10:30, lifting weights at 17:00 and then practice at 19:00.
We are only a few days from getting our apartments and we couldn’t be more happy to have a place to store food i.e., a freezer and refrigerator.
Hi, glad to hear you are working out and enjoying Poland. Be careful when lifting, I hope the veterans can teach you a lot. I think I see several players who are about 7 feet. Continue to work hard on endurance, work with the guards so you will know how each one pass. Miss you love you.
